Can't Connect to this Network
If your device is having trouble connecting to the company's Wi-Fi network with an error message that says, "can't connect to this network," try these troubleshooting steps:
1. Restart your device and see if you connect to the network again.
2. Open up your Wi-Fi settings, right click on the company's network, and select "forget this network."
- Try to connect to the network by searching for it and re-entering your login credentials.
3. Check to see if you can connect to other available networks, such as the company's guest Wi-Fi. Here's how to connect to the guest Wi-Fi: How to connect to the guest Wi-Fi network : SPCC IT Support
- If that works, then the company's Wi-Fi may be experiencing some issues and may take some time.
4. If you cannot connect to any Wi-Fi network, then there might be a problem with your device's network card. Open a ticket with the IT support when possible.
An alternative way to connect to the network is to use an Ethernet cable with wired connection instead of wireless. This can be a temporary workaround during time sensitive scenarios.
1. Request an Ethernet cable. If you are in your office and have a VoIP phone next to you, you can disconnect the cable from your phone (temporarily) and plug it in to your computer.
2. Reboot your computer while maintaining the wired connection.
3. After you reboot, your computer should be automatically updated with the latest network policies.
If you are using a Windows 11 device, then it may be common to be experiencing issues in connecting to the Wi-Fi automatically.
Your credentials being sent to the server that is supposed to authenticate you to grant you access to the Wi-Fi may have issues communicating with your Windows 11.
You may need to manually connect your Wi-Fi network continuously when you sign in, which can be inconvenient. You can request a docking station or Ethernet cable to easily connect to the Wi-Fi.
